Our Kindergarten team has a grade level event every month. The event for the month of October was Pumpkin Math with Dads (and/or Moms). Daddy came up to school with a pumpkin and carving tools ready to go and the kids brought the rest of the supplies: instruction paper, pencil, yarn, scissors and unifix cubes.
They started off with estimations and measuring...height, circumference and weight. 
Then came the interior scooping. Let the seed counting begin! :)
