Baking Day!
We started the day with gingerbread houses and ended up with a gingerbread town. I think through the process, A & D may have consumed their body weight in candy throughout the course of the day.
We ended the day with our traditional lasagna and a drive through our favorite neighborhood lights. Yes, Aunt Kate, the Griswold's have done it again this year!! CRAZY!!! I just know they're going to win the neighborhood award AGAIN...how many years running? I'm losing count! :)

More lights...
A & D LOVED running through the light displays with their bffs in hand! With the cold weather, we pretty much had the place to ourselves. So that was nice. Top off a fun evening with friends with a trip to the famous Blue Bonnet cafe for an amazing cup of hot cocoa and the best slice of pie EVER, and you've got one awesome night!!!

The Polar Express Train Ride
We took a train ride to the "North Pole" tonight and had a blast!!! The kids loved it. The trip was perfect...complete with hot cocoa, cookies, a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus and a gift from each of them as well. A's favorite part of the evening was the conductor, he didn't punch fancy words into our tickets, but the hole punches seemed just as fun as letters. :) D was beyond excited to see the engine. It was a cold night...36 degrees...okay cold for Texas, but we trudged out to the front of the train for a picture with D in front.

Zilker Tree and Trail of Lights
We met our bffs tonight for our annual trip to the Zilker Tree and Trail of Lights. The kids REALLY got into spinning under the tree this year. Even after walking the entire mile long trail of lights by himself, D says "I think I want to go spin again." Hmmm...9:30 on a school night, I'm going with no. Little Miss A got tired pretty quick, a long day of school before an evening full of fun caught up to her PDQ. Thankfully our friends still have their double jogger, so A hitched a ride for a decent portion of our "walk" through. :) SUPER FUN!!!

Holiday Dance Performance
Today was the big day of Little Miss A's Peppermint Candy Cane dance that we have been practicing for the past few weeks. She did great...I think she was too focused on her steps to sing along though. :)

More SNOW!!!
Okay, so it wasn't the real stuff, but still just as fun!!! Our friends, the JW family, put up their snow room again this year and this time it was a full family event! Daddy got to come with us. He and Mr B had a snowball fight that was beyond hilarious! The kids had a great time playing with all of their friends in the "snow" What an awesome afternoon!

SNOW!!!
It SNOWED last night!!!! We were fortunate enough to be able to "play" a little before we walked into school this morning. :) A & D had a blast!!! Leaving school today, they both asked "Mommy, where did the snow go?" We're all hoping for more snow days between now and the holidays!!! What a way to get into the Christmas spirit! :)

Growing up!!
Let the holiday traditions begin!!!

Yesterday kicked off the start of our festive holiday traditions. We began our morning with a trip to Nordstorm's, it was had not to "browse" during the festivities. A friend of mine tipped me off to a wonderful NEW tradition to add to the list...Nordstrom's Holiday Breakfast!!! All I can say is "WOW!!!" J and I were BEYOND impressed! A great breakfast complete with family name tag for our table and gingerbread kits for the kids, an up close visit with Santa without lines, hassles or commotion (which was amazing in and of itself), then all the fun activities the kids could handle in a morning. It was amazing!!! So now we've added a new tradition to add to the season...hopefully we can reservations every year. (I booked this way back in the summer!)
We continued the day with a trip to Georgetown for our annual downtown fun with our bff's then headed up to Belton for the drive through trail of lights. Just like last year, it was awesome!!! The kids remembered being able to ride in the front seat as we drove through the light display. We had a moment with D (surprise, surprise, right?) but ended the evening on a happy note regardless. What a great day!

Decorating for Christmas

Thanksgiving Week in Florida
Uncle D and Uncle K decided it was a sweater vest occasion. I don't think any of them owned sweater vests prior, but we all headed out to find one. The picture speaks for itself...too funny!
As for the turkey dinner, the kids didn't eat a whole lot of turkey, or any of the main course sides for that matter, but the "appies" and Aunt N's GOURMET desserts were an all around fave! :)
From the Beach to the Ice...
Later that evening we took the kids ice skating. Ice skating with the water and palm trees in the background...how can you beat that? The kids did great. We went not too long ago, but they did even better this time around. Even by the end of our skate time, they were both doing remarkably better than when we first hit the ice. :)
DISNEY WORLD!!!
Totally wonderful, but the ABSOLUTE BEST part of the whole day was DINNER WITH CINDERELLA!!!!! We took a boat to the Grand Floridian for dinner with Little Miss A's favorite princess. We got to see, talk with, hug and take pictures with not only Cinderella and Prince Charming, but Lady Tremain, Anastasia and Drisella as well. :)
