On a Side Note...

Mr. D is in music class now and having a blast with Mr. S. He came home and wrote him a note...

How cute is that? He was even able to tell me what everything was...whole notes, quarter notes, half notes. LOVE MUSIC!!!!!

Concert in the Park

Our neighborhood had it's 3rd annual Concert in the Park. With live music, lots of food, vendors, fun and games, it was a must!!! We caught up with friends we haven't seen in forever and wore the kids out dancing in the dark with glow sticks. :) With all my efforts the past few weeks to try to get the kids into a back to school sleep cycle, we threw all our cares to the wind and stayed out late. The kids didn't get to bed until 11. Hopefully that doesn't completely knock us out of whack for Monday morning. :)

Concert

We went with our dear friends from school to the high school concert. I thought the kids would love to see and hear all the instruments. Apparently not so much...half way through the first song, Mr. D leans over and asks me, "How much longer is it?" Meanwhile Little Miss A is at the other end by Ms.K and asks her "When is it the end?" At least they had fun with the girls!!!!

Digital Generation...

Okay, let me just start by saying my kids (like most their age) have no fear what-so-ever when it comes to technology. As I was doing some laundry I heard my cell phone ringing, only it didn't stop...the song kept going. I find my cell phone in the little hands of my baby girl. In the short time she had my phone, she had opened the music folder, started playing Lady Gaga, created a totally bizarre contact comprised entirely of symbols and made a call to one of my friends. (Granted she had NO CLUE how she did any of that, it certainly wasn't intentional. Little hands can apparently move faster that bigger hands can.) So there she sits playing the song with her head bopping to the music. She was in heaven...until I had to take the phone, apologize to my friend for the "prank" phone call, fix my phone book and close out the music program. Then it was off to the manual to figure out how she accomplished all this so fast. I haven't had my new yet. I guess I need to talk to Little Miss A for some techniques and usage tips. :)

Music

It's been a musical morning at the Caswell house! What began with Little Miss A finding Mommy's iPod and jamming in the family room saying "Mommy, this song rocks!" (I'm happy to report it wasn't a "Mommy" song.) That led to a full house destruction of our music center and a full band. Everyone had an instrument to play...boy was it LOUD!!! Then we decided to listen to loud music and dance all over the place. Don't you just love Saturday mornings? After a crazy two weeks at work, I sure needed that!!

Whistle While You Work...

Mr. D has really been working on his whistling skills lately. It cracks me up. Almost all afternoon I was hearing this whirring sound...it's D practicing. You know the really loud fingers in mouth whistle sound? Oh, he can do that, with sound. It's hilarious!!! The boy is definitely determined. I love it!! :)
