After School Activities...

Holy crow, adding gymnastics to a school night on the same evening as dance made for a whirlwind of an afternoon. Seriously Ms. J, I have NO IDEA how you've been doing this ALL year with ALL FOUR!!!! You are my hero!!! :)
turning cartwheels

We left school at 4:00, raced through sonic for drinks...we haven't done that in a LONG time. (What a nice treat!) Got to gymnastics right as class was starting.

Mr. D at 4:00

We were there for an hour, then it was off to dance. Got to dance class right as it was starting. There for another hour.

ready to go...

Finally on our way home since leaving for school that morning at 7:15 am...it's now 7:15 pm!!!! What a long day!!! I'm exhausted...surely Little Miss A and Mr. D are too.

free dance

At home, it was dinner, tub, bed, done! What a whirlwind!!!

Gymnastics...FINALLY!!!!

After a LONG time on the waiting list at the gym Mr. D took gymnastics at last year, we finally got into Ms. L's class. YEA!!!! D was so excited to start back in. The class was far more challenging than last year. It was really obvious that we had missed the past 5 months...I guess we need to stay enrolled through the summer to keep his spot for next year. :) It was really fun to watch the kids though, there is this little boy in class that must be at least a head taller than Mr. D that was turning one handed cartwheels!!!! WOW!!! It won't be long until Mr. D is right there with him! :) As we were leaving, I was catching up with one of my friends that has her daughter in the same class and Mr. D took the opportunity to climb the handicapped parking pole. Gymnastics brought out this side of him last year as well....little monkey. Here we go again...let the games begin!

Gymnastics Show

Our little man had his gymnastics show last Saturday. I'm so glad he got to have his time in the spotlight with Little Miss A's dance recital looming in the near future. Let me just say this about that...we have one VERY active little boy!!! As with any regular class in gymnastics they had they rotation stations set up. They were organized into small groups with individual instructors. Unfortunately, D's coach wasn't at the show, so he had a different instructor helping him in the show. I have no idea if that is what prompted his crazy behavior during the course of the hour or if was the LARGE audience he felt he needed to entertain, but he was all over the place!!! I honestly don't remember how many times the kid fell on his head. (Yes, we were the bad parents in the audience that were laughing, but only because this is D on a daily basis at home.)

To sum up without creating a novel in this post, let me just say D was constantly being redirected and refocused. He was always watching us and waving at us in the audience while his coach was giving directions for the station they were going to that he had no clue what he was supposed to do at each piece of equipment. YIKES...that's a teacher's worst nightmare...I was embarrassed!!! The, like the little boy that he is, waiting is an issue. If there was a line at the next apparatus, he would simply take another go (or two) on the equipment he was currently using, which of course caused issues for the gymnasts in line behind him. It was crazy...funny and frustrating all in one. That's our boy!!!

Gymnastics

Mr D has officially switched extra curricular activities with his first "real" gymnastics class. The terminology that they use and the activities they do with the kids is so amazing...compared to our last gymnastics experience a year ago. WOW!!! He is learning so much already and has only been to 2 classes.
