The Caswell Kids Sleepover!

We had a sleepover the other night with our bffs and had SO much fun...up until the moment it was time to turn out the lights. :) The evening started with dinner at one of favorite spots, followed by some play time at a nearby park. After that we headed to our friends' house. Living in the country, we were hoping to some deer in the yard. BUT as soon as Mr. D got out of the X-terra, he started "talking" in his loudest voice not realizing he was scaring the deer away with every syllable.

One did show up a while later, but left as soon as I got the camera. The kids got impatient waiting and the deer wasn't coming out while there were FIVE kids sitting on the back porch waiting for her. So it was off the to playroom for some more fun. In a house full of girls, Little Miss A is in heaven, but leave it to Mr. D to find whatever boyish toy he can to create his own spin on playing with girls. Fairy/princess wands become wizard wands, dragon puppets come to intrude the princess camp. The Bailey girls are so sweet about Mr. D being prince charming or the groom in the wedding...the sleepover was no exception. Mr. D was the victim of beauty shop. He was pampered and groomed by all the girls. He loves the attention. :) Playtime slowly turned to movie night. Miss J had the coolest snacks and treats and the kids hung out watching "Despereaux" with the sleeping bags, pillows and blankies. :)

During the movie there were several interruptions...lots of interactions with one another...of course all of which NEEDED adult intervention. :) Once the movie was over it was time for bed. After a half hour of trying the get the kids to fall asleep on the play room floor together, we decided we needed to split them up. Thankfully Miss J's new house has enough rooms that everyone got their own!!! Sadly, the Caswell kids were a little uneasy with this twist of fate. They could NOT fall asleep and were up asking for me throughout the night until I ultimately ended up sleeping on the floor with them. I certainly didn't want them to wake the Bailey girls up. After that, they were out. I guess I have a little bit of a problem on my hands since they both NEEDED me in order to fall asleep in a new place. Waking up in the morning allowed the kids even more playtime. We checked out the neighbors horses...

We played with EVERY riding toy the Bailey's own, then headed to the craft room for some coloring then it was back to the playroom for even more dress up time. It was so much fun...my kids were both devastated to have to leave and have been asking constantly when we're going back. Priceless summer memories. :)
